William Cuebas Obituary

October 24, 1945 ~ May 12, 2025

William Louis Cuebas
October 24, 1945 – May 12, 2025
William Louis Cuebas, affectionately known as “Bill,” passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania, on October 24, 1945, Bill lived a rich and passionate life centered around family, hard work, and his deep love of cars.
Bill spent much of his adult life in the Williamsport, Pennsylvania area before retiring to Melbourne, Florida, where he enjoyed the sunshine and the freedom to pursue his lifelong passion—hot rods. He began his career as an automotive mechanic, later finding success as a real estate investor. He developed and owned numerous properties in and around Williamsport which he sold upon retiring to Florida.
But no matter what Bill did professionally, cars were always at the heart of who he was. A gifted builder and enthusiast, Bill hot-rodded and restored countless cars throughout his life, pouring his skill and creativity into every project. In retirement, he dedicated himself fully to his craft. Most days, he could be found in his garage, tools in hand, music on, doing what he loved best. He and his wife, Lana, traveled across the country attending car shows and enjoying the vibrant community of fellow enthusiasts.
As much as Bill loved his cars, his family was always his greatest pride and joy. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Lana (Springman); his two beloved sisters, Sharon Bertrand and Debbie Bertrand; his children, William Cuebas, Jr. (Kim) and Lisa Shaw (Brian); his grandchildren, Allison Hook, Leslie McCrum, Leah Shaw, and Jacob Shaw; and five great-grandchildren – Chase, Gabby, Kooper, Jaxon, and Lainey who filled his life with love and laughter.
Bill will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him—friends, fellow car lovers, and most of all, his family. His legacy lives on in the cherished memories of those he loved and in the cars he built, many of which still cruise the roads across the country, each one a testament to his passion and talent.
A memorial service will be held in Williamsport, PA at a later date.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
