Teodoro Ruiz

May 15, 1931 ~ June 17, 2025

With deep sadness, we share the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. Teodoro Ruiz—also known to us as Dad, G, Champ, and GG. He passed away peacefully at home in Vero Beach, Florida on June 17, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 94 years old.

Teodoro was born on May 15, 1931, in Aguada, Puerto Rico to Vidal and Julia Ruiz. He was one of many siblings and is survived by two sisters, Sor Anunciacion Ruiz and Mercedes Patino.

In 1950, Teodoro moved to Connecticut, where he married the love of his life, Haydee Ruiz. They were married for over 51 years until her passing in 2004. He retired in 1989 and moved with his family to Vero Beach to enjoy his later years.

He leaves behind two daughters, Myra Ruiz and Carmen Ramos (with husband Gerard), three grandchildren: Robert Theodore Ruiz (with wife Patricia), Lisa Lopez (with husband Larry), and Julia Critelli (with husband John), eight great-grandchildren: Anthony Ceely (with wife Tia), Hailey Ceely (with partner Bradley), Grace Ruiz, Gabriella Ruiz, Zachary Critelli, Luke Critelli, Mya Lopez, and Morgan Critelli, and one great-great-grandchild, Ivy Mercer.

Teodoro was loved deeply and will be missed more than words can say. His kindness, strength, and the memories we shared will live on in our hearts forever.

Words cannot express how deeply I miss you! You were there for Rob and I throughout our entire life, always offering your love and support. Every important life event that has happened in my life, you were right there. Thank you for being the best grandfather/dad a girl could ever ask for. When Mya was born, you were GG to her and I will never forget what a special bond the two of you shared. You were in her life since the day she was born and she absolutely adores you. So from the bottom of my heart, I thank you Champ/GG for everything and for loving me, Larry and Mya the way you did. I’m happy you are in a better place now and not suffering anymore. See you on the other side Champ. Until we meet again. I love you and will miss you forever!

You’ve been a father figure to me and always treated me like a member of the family. You gave me great counsel and guidance. I will remember the conversations we had in the garage and your laugh the most. Your presence will be missed but your footprints will always be there. Thank you Rob and family for sharing “G” with me.

I may not have known you closely enough, but I know the kind of person you were through the life and heart of your grandson who loved you very much, The strength, kindness, and wisdom you passed on, are clear in the way they live, love, and carry themselves.
Thank you for being a guiding light in their life and for the love you gave, the stories you shared, and the foundation you helped build.
Your presence will be deeply missed, but your legacy lives on. May you rest in peace, surrounded by the love of all those whose lives you touched.

G was always so kind and welcoming. You could just feel how much he loved his family and it shows, because he raised such a wonderful one. He should be incredibly proud of the legacy he’s left behind. Thinking of you all and sending love to the whole family. Xo Paige

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
