Frederick G. Schroeder, 62, passed away on November 1, 2025 at Hospice House, after a long and courageous fight with kidney disease and numerous other health challenges. Born in Vero Beach on October 22, 1963, to the late Albert and Mary Judith Adams Schroeder, Fred was a proud native of his hometown. He spent his childhood with what would become lifelong friends. His years of fishing, surfing, hunting, and riding his Harley on the open road gave him a love for the peace and tranquility of God’s beauty in nature.
Fred worked in irrigation and well drilling. It was his commitment to excellence that drove him, not only do his best in everything he did, but also it challenged him to improve. From hand making knives with precision, to hand sewing leather with care and creativity, he was a man of many talents with a remarkable gift for craftmanship.
Fred had a lifelong love for many genres of music. As a youth he enjoyed many live concerts, his favorite being Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. He had an appreciation for classic rock and the energy it brought, and numerous worship songs that soothed his soul. He loved to play his guitars and enjoyed the bonds of friendship that music cultivated. Often in the night hours when sleep alluded him, due to his pain, an acoustic song could be heard coming from his music room.
Of all the roles he held in life, the one he cherished most was being a father. His daughter, Carissa, was the best part of his world. She was his pride, his joy and one of his greatest reasons for fighting through the years of pain and illness. He considered her to be his greatest blessing.
Fred was a member of King’s Baptist Church and he grew in his faith there. The constant prayers and support of the church family he grew to love, were a great encouragement as he and his family faced his failing health for over 25 years. It was his personal relationship with Jesus Christ that gave him peace, strength, and the unshakable hope that eternal life in heaven awaited beyond this one. It was his prayer that friends and family he loved would also accept Christ and have this eternal promise of life in heaven.
Fred is survived by his devoted wife of more than 25 years, Mary Jayne Schroeder, and his daughter, Carissa Grace Kirk, her husband Albie Kirk, his brother Stephen D. Schroeder, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Judith Schroeder.

My sincere Condolence to you and your family. I did not know Fred very well but what incredible strength he had to come to Sunday school and have that smile still in pain. What an encouragement to me.
Jenny and I are praying for you every morning.
