Kenneth Scott Jones

April 17, 1962 ~ May 19, 2025

Kenneth Scott Jones was born to Jerry and Adelaide (Langbein) Jones at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton Virginia, on his grand-father’s birthday. It was the best birthday gift Grandpa Langbein ever received.
Growing up as a Navy Junior, Ken lived in many places. Very much an extrovert, Ken fit
in wherever he lived. On his first day of one grade school, he came home with a slew of phone numbers. “These are my new friends,” he said.
A bright student, Ken excelled in math. After graduating from Annandale High School
in Virginia, he attended the Universities of Florida and South Florida, where he received
his degree in Mathematics. In 1995 he was certified as an Actuarial Fellow. Working in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida, his actuarial specialty was creating and amortizing benefit plans.
Ken’s abiding interest was athletics (always a Gator fan!), both as spectator and participant. As a high school swimmer, he placed at the Virginia state finals in breaststroke. He enjoyed history, and was a competitive home-Jeopardy player. After moving to Florida he enjoyed scuba diving.
Ken had many friends, some from as far back as grade school and as his days as a Navy Junior. However, family was always the most important part of his life. He made many trips
“back home” and adored his nephew and niece. In March of this year, it was Ken’s great
joy to meet, hold, and read books with his great-niece for the first time.
Ken was predeceased by his four grandparents, his godfather John Mackey, and cousin Louise Mackey. He is survived by his parents, brother Roy Edward, nephew Ryan
(Elizabeth) Jones, niece Lauren Jones, great-niece Gabriella Jones, godmother Marie Mackey, godson Beau Brennan, and very special friends.
Gifts in Ken’s memory may be sent to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of
Animals), or to a charity of your choice.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
