April 12, 1939 – November 16, 2025
Phoebe Rose Burdick Klein, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 12, 1939, Phoebe lived a life defined by kindness and a deep devotion to those she loved. Family was the heart of her world, and she poured her love into every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who will carry her wisdom and compassion with them always.
Phoebe was predeceased by her husband, Frederick R. Klein, and her son, Frederick R. Klein, Jr. Their memories remained ever-present in her heart, and she carried their love with her throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Klein Badley, of Vero Beach, FL, and Elizabeth Klein Senif of South Beach, OR. She was a devoted and proud grandmother to Alexandra M. Beuttell and Haley L. Beuttell, both of Jacksonville, FL, and to Christopher S. Senif and Nicholas F. Senif, both of South Beach, OR. She was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Trig A. Roberts of Jacksonville, FL, who brought her much joy.
Phoebe was known for her remarkable entertaining skills and her talent for bringing people together with warmth, grace, and effortless hospitality. Her love of travel filled her life with adventure and allowed her to form deep and lasting friendships internationally, most notably with her dear British friends. At the card table, Phoebe’s gentle demeanor transformed into spirited determination. She was a fiercely competitive card player, especially at bridge, pinocle and cribbage, and she was always ready for a lively match and never shy about celebrating a well-earned win. Those moments of friendly rivalry and laughter remain among her family’s fondest memories.
Phoebe’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the values she instilled, and the love she shared so freely. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her.

Sue you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Phoebe’s passing. As a teenager, I remember her home was a place of so many wonderful memories and filled with kindness, patience for our shenanigans (haha) and a sense of welcome that I will never forget.
I’m especially grateful for having had the chance to visit her and Frog in Florida – she was so welcoming and I will always remember them both with fondness.
Please know that all of you are in my thoughts. I’m wishing you comfort, strength, and peace during this difficult time.

Phoebe was one of a kind. We first met her in March 1987 and it was friendship at first sight. Me and my wife Jan visited the USA many times. And we’re blessed with the opportunity. Of staying with Phoebe and Fred many times. Phoebe and FRED also visited us many times over the years. As our friendship continued have some Tom joined us when we visited Phoebe and FRED and we had so many wonderful times and created so many wonderful memories over the years. Although my wife’s illness prevented us from travelling a friendship remained and we continued to exchange stories and memories across the Internet. Phoebe truly was a wonderful mother. A wonderful woman. And a wonderful friend to us here in England. When my own wife died, Phoebe continued to support us from a distance and her love for her friends and family will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Phoebe you have done your turn and raised a wonderful family. XXX

I saw the Facebook post from Beth and replied to that and then I read this obituary. Though I only met her a handful of times, this is exactly how I would describe her. She treated me as if she knew me my entire life. Sending love and prayers for comfort for Mrs, Klein’s family.

Our deep condolences on your loss. Our most recent memory of your mom is when we went on a cruise with her and my mom. We enjoyed played cards with them. So true, she was a “fiercely competitive card player”. They both were. But it was fun. She will be dearly missed.
We look forward the seeing Aunt Phoebe again. As Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” (John 11:25) The Apostle Paul stated “I have hope toward God … that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15)
This is our hope too. To see our dear loved ones, like Aunt Phoebe, who have passed, and are sleeping, to be awakened from their sleep and be reunited with their loved ones.
We love you Suzy and Beth. May you have comfort and peace.
Love,
Paul and Michelle Casedonte.
