Charles Edgar Shannon Jr, age 80 passed away peacefully at home in Vero Beach, Florida on November 29, 2025.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 13, 1945 to Charles E. Shannon and Estelle (Johnston) Shannon. Charles graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School, Grosse Pointe, Michigan in 1963, he earned his degree in Business from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. Charles served in the US Army Reserve from 1969-1974 as Medical Corpsman. Charles spent the majority of his career managing the Shannon family restaurant and bar business in Detroit, Michigan.
Throughout his life he had a passion for working with his hands and was known for fixing anything that was broken. He took pleasure in the great outdoors and enjoyed camping in northern Michigan, he appreciated nature in all its wonder and beauty and supported the National Park Service. “Chuck” as he was known by his family and close friends was an avid collector of older rare artifacts. He married Pamela on September 16, 2005 in Deerfield Beach, Florida together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories which began when they met in 1980.
Chuck will always be remembered for his quick wit and enjoying life to the fullest with those who knew him best. In addition to his wife, Pamela (Zubris), he is survived by his sister, Beverly (Edward McIntyre) of Bloomfield, MI; brother, Daniel of Pompano Beach, FL and sister, Nancy (Jeffrey Oakes) of Vero Beach, FL. He is predeceased in death by his parents; sister, Barbara (Vilardi) and nephew, Scott Callahan. He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A private family service and burial will be held at a later date at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.

We love you Chuck. As a young girl I remember a sweet memory of Chuck taking my sister and I to some kind of a fair when we were visiting Michigan. I always thought he was so handsome and had a crush on this cousin of mine. Wish we had lived closer but cherish the memories we did have with him.
