Edward John Dawson, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 9, 1939, in Beamsville, Ontario, Canada. Edward spent his early years in Canada before moving with his wife and children to Freeport, Bahamas, and later settling in South Florida, where he made his home for many years.

Edward had a deep love for the ocean and was an avid sailor. He also had a passion for flying, pursuits that brought him immense joy throughout his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Mary Dawson; his daughter Catherine Kurth and son-in-law Richard Kurth; his son Timothy Dawson; his son Edward Dawson and daughter-in-law Heather Dawson. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Timothy Dawson, Richard Kurth III, Sean Dawson, Skyler Dawson, Tripp Dawson, and Tyler Dawson, as well as his great-grandchildren Dillon, Emmie, Evelyn, Eddie, Caroline, Aurelia and Arlow.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, James Dawson; his mother, Madeleine Dawson; his son, Martin Dawson; his sister, Irene Groves; and his brothers, James Dawson and Larry Dawson.

Edward will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of family, and the warmth he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he cherished
