Mary Teresa “Teresa” Hockx, 80, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. Born on March 3, 1945, in Kingston, New York, she was the daughter of the late Richard Wells Sr. and Mary (Carchidi) Wells. Teresa moved to Vero Beach in the 1980s and remained a resident for the rest of her life.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Howard Kelly of Rocky Mount, NC; her children Rafael Pabon of Andover, MA, DeAnna Colon, Lucy Cordero, and Anna Hockx, all of Vero Beach, FL, and Coby Hockx of Mt. Marion, NY; and by her sisters Joanne Daley and Grace McNamara. She was predeceased by her son Joshua Hockx and her brother Richard Wells Jr.Teresa also leaves behind many precious and very loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Teresa was a devoted mother who later became an LPN, serving for many years as a compassionate and dedicated nurse. She was also an ordained minister, known for offering prayer, support, and encouragement to friends, family, and anyone in need.

She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit. Teresa cherished her family, loved to sing and dance, and had a free-spirited nature that touched everyone she met.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date
