Wesley M. Smith

September 03, 1936 ~ January 17, 2026

Wesley M. Smith, of Vero Beach, Florida, the beloved husband of the late Barbara J. Smith, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the age of 89. Born in Caribou, Maine on September 3, 1936, Wesley grew up and worked on the family farm, a place of which he had many fond memories. He graduated from Caribou High School in 1954. Wesley married his first love, Judith Taylor in 1958, and they resided in Bristol, Connecticut. Wes worked for Pratt & Whitney, an aircraft engine manufacturer, until he retired in 1991. Wes and Judy then lived in Port St. Lucie, Florida, until Judy’s passing in 1995.

Wesley found love again and married Barbara J. Anderson on November 30, 1996, and they resided in Fort Pierce, Florida for almost 30 years. Wes enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, going for walks, spending time with family and friends, traveling the country with his wife, and watching every UConn Huskies basketball game. Over the years, Wesley was always a strong, dedicated, caring and devoted husband, especially during some very difficult, challenging times. His unwavering love knew no bounds.

Wesley is survived by his daughter Vicki Davis; his stepson Steve (Cathy) Anderson; his stepdaughter Karin Anderson; his sister-in-law Diana Smith; his grandchildren James Davis, Jillian Davis; Jordan, Austin and Aaron Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his late wife Barbara who passed in July 2025, Wesley was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Clara Smith; his first wife Judith Smith; his brother Wade Smith; and his sister Sandra and her husband Robert Adomavicia.

Rest in peace … May your memory be eternal.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
