Robert Leslie Vereen

June 01, 1944 ~ February 12, 2026

Robert Leslie Vereen, born June 1, 1944, in Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. “Bob” or “Bobby” spent his childhood years growing up in Grant, Florida. Robert was one of eight children. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ronald “Buddy” Vereen, who passed away as a baby, James “Coot” Vereen, and Marlyn “Nicker” Vereen; and his sisters Betty Sue Dalton and Faye Revels. Robert was the youngest of the children after the passing of his baby brother, Buddy. He is survived by his sisters, Ila O’Neal and Archie Driggers. He married the love of his life, Connie, in 1962, after meeting her in 1959. Together they shared 63 beautiful years of marriage, building a life centered around family, and unwavering commitment. They raised their children in Fellsmere, Florida, before moving to the Grant/ Micco area in 1988. Connie preceded him in death, and we take comfort knowing they are reunited. Robert is survived by his children, Robert C. Vereen, Scott Vereen (Barbie), and Cherie Guidroz (Garett). He was a proud grandfather to Michael Vereen (Kerry), Leslie Faison (Kyle), and Linsey Durling (Jeremy), and a joyful great grandfather to Reese and Rhett. He took great pride in his family. After training at Hobart Welding School in Wabasso, Robert went on to work as a welder fabricator at Vereen & sons Welding and Atlantic Machine Works. Outside of work, he loved hunting and collecting pocketknives – he enjoyed sharing his love of hunting with his children and grandchildren. To know Robert was to know loyalty, quiet strength, and love. His presence will be deeply missed & remembered.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
