Carolyn A. Knight

June 06, 1947 ~ February 02, 2026

Carolyn A. Knight passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on February 2, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1947, in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late George Knight and Barbara Knight.

Carol spent many years moving from Rhode Island to Florida and even Pennsylvania, but her heart was truly in Florida. She especially loved her time living in the Keys.

She devoted many years to working as a sales associate at Cato’s Women’s Department Store, which gave her an impeccable sense of style—even though her closet mainly consisted of black, red, leopard print, and rhinestones. She always made sure she looked her best, not even a hair out of place and she had a lot of it. This is where her personality also shined, a woman who truly went to work to socialize. Carol loved conversation and being around people, almost as much as her Captain Morgan and Diet.

She was a spitfire you always wanted to be around, the life of the party with a sense of humor big enough to take every joke or prank her family pulled on her. She was tough but a pushover when it came to her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Carol is survived by her brother, George Knight Jr., and his wife, Lesley, along with her three beloved children: Kellie, Erin (Thomas Lindsay), and Leonard Tracy; six cherished grandchildren; and five adored great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Pat Santiago; two great-grandchildren; and her favorite dog, Rummy.

In her later months and days, she found comfort in spending time laughing and reminiscing with her grandchildren Lindsey (John Drummer), Caitlyn, Tyler (Jesse Wilton-Grissom), and Victoria (David Wescoat), and great-grandchild Trent Michael.

Carol will be remembered for a life well lived by her family and the enormous circle of friends she leaves behind. Her memories will truly last a lifetime.

Her family would like to say a special heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Mederi Caretenders Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and exceptional care during her final weeks.

She was a special lady. Richard (my husband) always called her Moma, even though they were about the same age. They both enjoyed sparing back and forth. We really enjoyed her company. Our condolences to her family.

My one and only time spend with her she sat next to me and told me stories all night. I laughed all night long and first thing I told Caity the next day was “ I love her”.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
