Robert Carrol Mills, lovingly known as Bob, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away February 18, 2026, at the age of 82.
Bob was born in 1943 and lived a full, adventurous, and devoted life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sandra Ann Mills, with whom he built a life rooted in love, partnership, and shared adventure.
He is also survived by his daughter, Nichole Lynn Smith, and her husband, Reece Smith; his cherished grandchildren, Jacob Smith and Sammie Smith, who brought him immense pride and joy; his brother Larry Mills and wife Marilyn; his brother Doug Mills and wife Gloria; and his sister-in-law Gerie Hawkins.

Bob and Sandy shared an extraordinary life together, traveling the world and embracing adventure at every turn. They sailed the Great Lakes and voyaged from Florida to the Bahamas aboard their 42-foot sailboat, Shiloh, these are the experiences that reflected Bob’s love of the water and the freedom it brought him.
Above all else, Bob treasured time with his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting, and staying as active as possible—always happiest when outdoors or on the move.
Bob will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal brother, proud veteran, and a man who lived life with purpose, curiosity, and heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
