John William Reynolds

June 22, 1947 ~ February 20, 2026

John William Reynolds, 78, of Vero Beach, traveled his final journey on February 20, 2026. After a courageous battle, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in London, England, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. His education launched a remarkable professional career that would take him across the globe. A true worldwide traveler, John spent much of his career with Motorola, installing cellular networks in countries around the world. His final overseas assignment brought him to Beijing, China, where he was responsible for installing the first Chinese cellular network — a milestone achievement that reflected both his expertise and pioneering spirit.

Following retirement, John continued to traverse the globe, with a special focus on Third World countries. When asked why he was drawn to those destinations, he would say he was inspired by how people with so little could find such profound happiness. That perspective spoke volumes about his character — thoughtful, observant, and deeply appreciative of the human spirit.

John was well known for his dry sense of humor, his eagerness to make a deal, and his willingness to take chances. His adventurous nature, quick wit, and warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 34 years, Elaine; his brother, Neal; his three sons, Adam, Daniel, and Benjamin; and seven cherished grandchildren.

John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, you may wish to donate in his memory to Vero Beach Dog Park, 505 Beechman Blvd., #1–124, Vero Beach, FL 32963.

So sorry to hear of John’s passing. He and Elaine were our friends during both of our tours of duty in Beijing. He was a good friend that would help out in any situation.
After Simone and my move into Vero Beach, we were able to rekindle our relationship with John and Elaine.
In sympathy,
Peter Walker

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
