Mary Ann Spaulding Lyle “Din” age 87 of Vero Beach Florida went home to heaven on March 6, 2026. She was born in Indianola Iowa on April 20, 1938, to Edmund and Dorothy Spaulding. Mary Ann was a permanent resident of Vero Beach since 2007, coming from the Chicagoland suburbs where she lived her adult life. Her childhood was spent in Eureka IL where she graduated from Eureka High School. Mary Ann attended University of South Dakota, Illinois State University and Carthage College to obtain her undergraduate degree. She also received a master’s from Loyola University in Chicago in Pastoral studies later in life. She was a fourth-grade teacher in Grass Lake Il.
Mary Ann organized a Christmas party annually for 30 years at the Sue Duncan Children’s Center in Chicago for underprivileged children. She supervised providing a holiday meal for each family and arranged for private donations for individual gifts for each child.
Mary Ann was an active member of the Vero Beach Yacht club where she spent many enjoyable hours playing bridge. She also volunteered in the Indian River County schools tutoring children. She volunteered at the Book Depot and was a member of the Community Church in Vero Beach where she was part of the “called to care” ministry group up until last year. She was a Pi Beta Phi and a member of the PEOs.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter Cynthia (John) Fedorik; Kraig (Jessica) Sams; Rebecca (Tom) Vant’Hof; her brother Tom Spaulding; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 2 nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Edmund Spaulding and her granddaughter Samantha Fedorik Hansen.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mary Ann. She was a year ahead of me at Eureka High School, and we both played drums in the band. What a Beautiful Lady. My deep condolences to her family.

My sympathy to Mary Ann’s entire family, especially Cindy, Kraig and Becky. She loved her family, every one of them, with her whole heart. You were the joy in her life. I counted her as my sister in Spirit and will miss her greatly!
