Maryanne Di Lella

December 11, 1937 ~ April 27, 2026

Maryanne Di Lella, 88, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 27, 2026. Born on December 11, 1937, in Passaic, NJ, Maryanne was the daughter of Henry and Anne Fette and the youngest of four children.

Maryanne grew up in Clifton NJ and enjoyed an active youth, participating in sports that included tennis, golf, skiing, and volleyball.  She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in NJ and worked at Curtiss-Wright Corporation prior to marrying Alexander F. Di Lella on June 2, 1962, at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church in Clifton NJ.  When Al and Maryanne started a family, she dedicated herself to dutifully raising and guiding five children with a unique sense of cool and calm.  In her limited spare time, Maryanne honed her tennis skills and was always revered on the court for her capabilities and a lethal slice.  Maryanne taught her young kids how to ski, while Al skied haphazardly ahead.  If Maryanne were to have a middle name, it would be “Patience.”

When Maryanne and Al retired in 1998, they settled into an enjoyable lifestyle balanced between Green Pond, NJ and Vero Beach, FL, spending cherished time with their children and grandchildren.  Maryanne excelled in sports and never missed an opportunity to see her children and grandchildren compete and to support them in all their academic and athletic endeavors.  Maryanne enjoyed an optimistic attitude in her life and that point of view was infused in everything she did.  Above all, Maryanne was devoted to her family and to providing the love and care that enabled her family to flourish.

Maryanne was married to Alexander F. Di Lella (died April 13, 2023) for 60 years. Maryanne’s surviving five children are Mark and his wife Sharon of Indianapolis, IN, Bryan and his wife Kristine of Tucson, AZ, Lisa (Brown) and her husband Bruce of New Preston, CT, Paul and his wife Nancy of Green Pond, NJ and Carl and his wife Stephanie of Vero Beach, FL.  Maryanne’s grandchildren include Lauren, John and Matthew Di Lella of Green Pond, NJ, Mason and Olivia Locker of New Preston, CT, Henry and Carson Di Lella of Vero Beach, FL and Luke Di Lella of Tucson, AZ.

Mary Ann was a cherished friend both on and off the tennis courts. Although our meetings in Green Pond or Grand Harbor were never as frequent as we wished, the laughter and the fun of each time we did get together will remain with me always. A life well lived, forever happy to have shared a small part of it. My condolences to all the DiLella family.

Lots of fond memories of Mary Ann both on and off the court. Best of all was the laughter we shared and the delight of getting together be it in Vero Beach or at Green Pond. A treasured friend, one I shall sincerely miss. Heart felt sympathy to all the DiLella family.

My sympathy to Maryanne ‘s family. We had a lot of fun and laughs on the tennis courts where I was victim to that slice . God Bless.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
