Terry Dimmick

March 19, 1963 ~ May 14, 2026

Our beloved Terry passed away at home with family by her side on Thursday, May 14, 2026 after putting up a valiant fight against the demon cancer.

Terry was the baby of six children born in Thornwood, NY to James and Elaine Dimmick. She spent her childhood and early adulthood in Carmel, NY. She is predeceased most recently by her sister and best friend Patty (d: November 12, 2025), and her “canine babies” Bentley and Lucie. She is survived by sisters Barb, Deb, Ginger and brother Jimmy as well as a large extended family. Terry was a “what you see is what you get” person. No pretense, ever. She touched the lives of many.

Terry was one-of-a-kind. Fierce in so many ways. Fiercely herself. Fiercely honest in a way that was forthcoming and blunt. Fiercely funny and angry. She was strong and fiercely fought her fears and her growing physical weakness. She gave her best (and more) as her illness progressed. Her gratitude was tangible. Most of all she fiercely loved her large and extended family. To say that family was everything to Terry would be an absolute understatement.

Terry lived for several years in Maine and in the 1990s moved and settled in Vero Beach. She provided loving care to aging parents and after Mom passed in 2002 she lived with Pop (her other best friend) until his death in 2009. She spent the last 12 years living with her sister Patty where they enjoyed their dogs, gardening and making a beautiful home. She was an avid bicyclist, enjoyed puzzles and hard work. She worked for many decades in the restaurant business where she gave it her all and was an incredibly loyal employee. Terry’s capacity for love and feisty spirit will continue to fill our hearts, minds and souls forever.

Terry, and Patty, are 2 of my favorite people ever. As is stated, fierce in every aspect of their lives but especially family. The home they created in Vero Beach was always a soft place to land. I considered Terry and Patty sisters as they were definitely a team. I think of you every day and will miss you forever. RIP Terry and say “Hi” to Patty and Tommy for me. Love, love love ❤️

I am unsure what to say but feel God keeps getting the good ones early. Praying that you are at peace enjoying all that I hope heaven has to offer. Love and miss you Terry.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
