Eric L Swenson of Vero Beach, Florida and previously of Manassas, Virgina passed peacefully on July 15, 2026.
He was born December 11, 1978, in Manassas, Virginia to Kathleen “Katie” (Leeper) and the late Kenneth “Ken” Swenson. A very cherished son.
Eric attended Prince William County Schools graduating from Osbourn Park High School and George Mason University with a degree in Economics, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He thrived as an athlete earning two national club titles during his playing time with GMU’s men’s lacrosse team. He excelled in swimming, tennis and golf, while loving fishing with his family and friends.
He was a vibrant, friendly, energetic guy who lived a full life with adventure and fun. He loved cooking, gardening, traveling, and following the stock market. He ran with the bulls in Pamplona while enjoying a college semester in Spain. He traveled extensively with his family and friends throughout the United States, Europe, and South America and the Caribbean. He also cherished simpler times with family, friends, and furry companions on the Outer Banks.
Eric previously served as President of the Courtside Homeowner’s Association, member of the Pelican Island Board of Directors, member of the Vero Beach Finance Committee. Recent member of two committees of Vero Beach Rowing.
In addition to his father, Eric was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, and seven aunts and uncles.
He is survived by two sons, Hunter and Hayden Swenson of Vero Beach; mother, Katie of Manassas; sister, Emily (Dan) of Arlington, Virginia; niece and nephew, Lydia and Logan; uncle, Tom Leeper (Margaret) of Lima, Illinois; cousins, Angie, Jeff (Meghan), Story, Camilla, and Jamison, Ron (JoAnne)Swenson, Cindy Hunsberger (Mike), Megan, Susan (Scott) Kreamer, Robin (John) Boozer and Julie Orff; his close companion and fur buddy Kobe, as well as numerous other friends and family across the states that will miss him dearly.
May Eric rest in peace, free from the trials and tribulations of this life. We will remember his beautiful blue eyes, captivating smile and infectious energy.
