Thea (Hendrickson) Gillespie, age 76 of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, with our dear cousin Vera Balsam of Vero Beach, FL, by her side. Family and friends remember her as loving and caring. She was born in Kankakee, Illinois and grew up in Manteno, Illinois. She moved to Fort Pierce, FL in the 1980’s along with her mother, Mary Ann Hendrickson. She met and married her late husband there. She loved being outdoors and sharing time with family and friends. She lived life on her own terms.

Thea was preceded in death by her husband, John Gillespie, her father Earl Hendrickson, her mother Mary Ann (Hendrickson) Barker, sister Patricia (Hendrickson) Martin, and brother Dale Hendrickson, and partner David Farineau.

Thea is survived by sisters, Denise Hendrickson in Seattle, WA, Jewel (Hendrickson) Cruz in Issaquah, WA, brother Darell Hendrickson in Marana, AZ. Thea also had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces.

There will be a private gathering of family members and close friends to honor her and say their final goodbyes.
