Richard Pecho

November 15, 1934 ~ May 06, 2022

Richard Pecho went home to his Savior peacefully while surrounded by his family on May 6, 2022.

Rich was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 15, 1934 to Carmen George and Lucille Ann Pecho.  He grew up with his sister, Linda Pecho Dahlberg and 3 brothers, the oldest George Pecho, his identical twin, Russell Pecho and youngest, Kenneth Pecho.

Rich was a loving husband to Madonna “Donna” Pecho for 37 years; loving father to Tammy Jo Pecho Worker and Tracy Ann Pecho; loving stepfather to Howard, Scott and Brad Morlock; grandfather to 18 grandchildren and great grandfather to nine great grandchildren.

Rich spent his career with Sears Service Center in Chicago.  He retired to Florida in 1992, where he and Donna enjoyed traveling and fishing together.

Rich was an avid golfer, a talented artist and an accomplished wood worker.

One of Rich’s most fulfilling projects was being involved in the building of Faith Congregational Church.  His passion for this Church is evident wherever you look.

Rich had a love hate relationship with the Chicago Cubs and Da Bears.  On any given Sunday afternoon you would find Rich yelling at the TV when one of his teams was playing.  He was a diehard fan.

Rich’s true love was Donna; they were not just spouses, but best friends.  They loved the saying…Always Kiss Me Goodnight!  And for 37 years he always did.

Rich loved his family.  His favorite times were on Christmas Eve making Raviolis with the grandkids.  It was a tradition that will truly live on.  When family came to visit, it was a REQUIREMENT that he made his famous Spaghetti Gravy for dinner.  Because his was the BEST!

Rich loved his cat, Allie.  It was so funny how he taught her to sit up on her hind legs for treats and when Rich’s daughters came to visit, he would tell Allie “Your sisters are coming to visit”.

Rich loved working in his garage.  Rich had every kind of tool, bolt, screw, nail and anything else you would need to build or fix something.  He could fix anything and if he couldn’t, he would not give up until he figured it out.

He loved getting phone calls from the kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  Those calls always made his day.

Rich loved music of all kinds; Jazz, country, oldies, some classical and last but not least, old blue eyes, Frank Sinatra.

He loved pineapple upside down cake and occasionally a good Scotch.  Breakfast was his favorite meal of the day.  The best was Sunday after church when he and Donna would make pancakes together.

Rich was a good and loyal friend and quite the joker at times.  But whenever one of them needed him he was there in an instant.  He was that way with his family too.  They could always count on Rich for anything.

Rich was an amazing man despite his recent health issues.  He always had a positive attitude and he never stopped planning for what was next.

The most amazing thing about Rich was his faith in God!  He never faltered in his faith.

Rest in Peace Rich Pecho…you were truly loved.

I just read this and actually said out loud, “I’m going to miss you.” Rich’s love for Donna, his family and his church was powerful. You just knew it. Rich is going to be missed by so many. Favorite memory, texting and calling each other during the Cubs World Series games. Many times in the wee hours of the morning.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
