Astrid M. Mariotti

November 14, 1955 ~ January 20, 2026

Astrid Marie Mariotti (70) of Vero Beach, FL went Home to be with The Lord on January 19, 2026. She was surrounded by the love of her family and the faith that guided her life. Astrid was born October 12, 1955, in Bogotá, Colombia, to Alberto and Angelina Palacios. She lived in the Panama Canal Zone from 1961 to 1976 before moving to the United States. She married Michael Mariotti in 2000.

Astrid was an avid Zumba instructor, but her deepest passion was mission work.

Her legacy includes helping bring about the founding of Iglesia Cristiana El Faro and its school in the township of Cañas Verdes, Palmira Arriba, near Boquete, Panama. In 2012, Astrid was serving Ngäbe-Buglé children who lacked access to basic education.  Astrid introduced Pastor Bob Wilson to Ana Ortega at Ana’s property, which later became the site of the church and school. Today, under the leadership of Pastors Rodrigo and Ana Ortega, the church serves the local community while the school serves 35+ elementary-aged children. Sponsorships provide academic and biblical education, uniforms, textbooks, materials, and two hot meals daily, continuing the work Astrid helped begin.

Astrid is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Mariotti; her daughter, Lisa Melichar and husband Jiri, and grandchildren Lainey, Mason, and Lukas; her son, Michael Mariotti and his fiancée Hanna, and grandchildren Benson, Adalynn, Coy, and Demri; her stepson, Gerry Rios; and her sisters, Aida and Sandy. Her family finds comfort in the promise that they will see her again.

Those wishing to honor Astrid’s legacy may donate online at hurtingworldministries.net or by mail to Hurting World Ministries, 14081 Magnolia St., Sp. 45, Westminster, CA 92683. Please note: Honoring Astrid. Michael Mariotti can be reached at (772) 206-6222.

I can say that I went to many events with Astrid and loved her energy and her huge smile!! I know that she also loved her mission work and her family!! I know that she is up in heaven now with the one who loves her the most!! I will miss her…along with so many others! I know that Astrid is another angel up in heaven now!

I was there at the beginning of your relationship 26 years ago. It was a wonderful time of watching you get married and being a family surrounded by love and the Lord. Mike, please know that you will see her soon one day and that helps our heart not grieve so much.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
