Cordie Roberta Howard
September 1, 1955 – March 17, 2026
After a life full of love, Cordie Roberta Howard was called home on March 17, 2026. Cordie
spent much of her life passing her time through the gift of gab, telling entertaining stories and
relating to others about the talks of the town in the many places she lived. If you ever visited her,
you would find her relaxing in her screen room or dedicated couch seat, television blaring one of
her favorite shows, with a crossword puzzle or TV Guide in her hand; welcoming you in to catch
up on what’s new. She was enamoured by films, riled up by topics on TV talk shows, fascinated
by “neat” art, adored cats, and listened to music of truly all types.
Her story began in San Pedro, California where she was born to Charm DeAnna Howard. Her
father, Arthur Howard, loved her dearly, raising her alongside Charm for many of her years. She
was the eldest daughter of her 5 beloved siblings, Ralph Howard (eldest), Bobbi Barber, Laura
Cook, and Arthur Howard II. She lived many of her years in southeastern Connecticut after
moving near the Groton Naval Base as a child; and called both Groton, CT and Waterford, CT
her home for many years. While she did a brief stint in Dallas, TX, (in perhaps an attempt to
quell her cowgirl dreams as a true country music lover), she decided that Connecticut would be
where she raised her girls Jacqueline Howard (eldest) and Julia Bastien. Her daughters brought
her cherished grandchildren into the world, Aaron James Howard (eldest), Amanda Fournier,
Mark Bastien III, Tyrika Howard and Jacob Bastien, who affectionately referred to Cordie as
‘Mema’. Here on Earth, she leaves behind her partner Frederick Hinkson, and her cuddly cats,
Cupid, Hi, and Seph. In their hearts, and in ours, she lives on forever.. And a day after that

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
