It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Garry McNulty, who left us at the age of 80 on Saturday, April 26, after a brief stay in hospice care in Palm Bay, FL. Garry’s warmth and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born and raised in Scranton, PA, Garry was the beloved son of the late William and Loretta McNulty. He graduated from Scranton Central High School and served his country in the United States Navy for two years aboard the USS Laffey. It was during his recovery from an auto accident that he met his future wife, the late Sarah Jane “Sally” Jordan, who was his nurse at the time.
Garry was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his booming radio voice, and his infectious smile. His talent for connecting with people was showcased during his career in radio advertising sales at WBZA in Glens Falls, NY, and later his work as a marine salesman in Lake George, NY. Seeking warmer climates, Garry transitioned to a career in security, working in Chandler, AZ; Newport News, VA; and most recently Melbourne, FL.
He is survived by his brother, William (Bing) McNulty of Clark Summit, PA, his daughters Kelly McNulty of Westborough, MA, and Erin Stulb of Shrewsbury, MA, and his cherished grandchildren, Mari and Thomas Mespelli and Meagan and Patrick Stulb. Garry also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Garry passed on his passion for reading to his daughters and was an avid writer, having proudly published several short stories. He also enjoyed visiting the fitness center several times a week, maintaining an active lifestyle until his recent illness.
Garry is predeceased by his parents, his former wife, and his brothers Anthony “Terry” McNulty and his wife Mary of Chinchilla, PA, and Brian McNulty, who passed away at the tender age of two.
In accordance with Garry’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, we invite all who knew him to remember his spirit through the stories and laughter he shared. His legacy of love, humor, and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.
Rest in peace, Garry. You will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.

We have known Garry for longer than half our lives. He was as fine a man as one could hope to meet and have as a friend. We are deeply saddened by his passing.
