On the 11th of May 2025, George W. Faulkner escaped this life to join his loved ones on the other side. George was born on February 7, 1942, in Takoma Park, Maryland to Woodrow Earnest and Louise Vergie (Long) Faulkner.
He met the love of his life, Susan Elizabeth Martha Poppert, at a dance hall and fell in love on the dance floor. They got married on August 12, 1965, in Alexandria, Virginia. Two sons, Jeffrey and Stephen, were born out of this union.
He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic.
George was a union carpenter who owned a drywall company, Craftsman Drywall, that his wife and sons were heavily involved in. He shared his passion for construction with his sons. Jeff became a skilled drywall finisher, and Steve became a rough carpenter, later to advance to a Superintendent.
He also had a passion for the word of God. For the past 20 years, he spent numerous hours a day reading the Bible and praying.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife (Sue), his son (Jeff), and his sister (Margaret Byrne).
He is survived by his son, Stephen Faulkner of West Palm Beach along with Alexis (granddaughter) and Jordan (grandson) of Billings, Montana. Survivors also include three nieces – Jennifer, Elizabeth, and Emily along with their families.
He will be cremated and laid to rest in the South Florida National Cemetery.

I knew George and his sweet wife Sue as they they were my sisters in-laws. I remember George to be a kind man with a quick smile, practical, and loved his family.

Thank you for the opportunity to care for Mr. Faulkner. He was a joy and a pleasure to care for, and always had a joke to share. Anytime I asked if he needed anything, he replied with peanut butter & graham crackers; truly an easy to please person. Working the family was also a pleasure. I am so thankful to have known him.
