James (Jim) Anderson passed away on July 13th, 2025 from complications of a stroke. He was born in Detroit, MI on May 4th, 1959 to James F. Anderson and Loretta D. Anderson (Bertsch). Jim had been a resident of Vero Beach for 40+ years and was blessed with long-term, faithful friendships. His school years were spent in Oregon and he later graduated from cosmetology school in Florida, where he worked at several exclusive salons as a colorist and stylist.
Jim enjoyed music and was a gifted singer. He recorded several original songs and often sang at church, weddings, restaurants and clubs. Beyond his vocal ability Jim wowed crowds with his infectious sense of humor. That humorous side often graced family members and friends with uproarious laughter. He was notorious for his impersonations of the “famous,” and could spontaneously transform his voice and mannerisms to match. He kept young and old entertained with his quick wit. The severe stroke brought with it many limitations, but the spark of humor occasionally emerged. Jim was aware his days were limited but looked forward to an eternal home with Christ.
Jim is survived by mother Loretta Bertsch of Arizona, sister Lynn Sawyer of Arizona, sister Susan Spousta and husband Larry of Maryland, nephews Christopher Sawyer and Matthew Spousta, nieces Stacey Pfeifer and Kelli Sawyer. He was proceeded in death by his father, James F. Anderson.
