Joyce Sizemore Engle, affectionately known to many as Granny Joyce, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Sebastian, Florida. She was 84.
Born on January 27, 1941, in Aiken, South Carolina, Joyce was the beloved daughter of Edward Sizemore and Juanita (Widener) Sizemore. She grew up in New Ellenton and graduated from Aiken High School.
Joyce was a loyal fan of the Clemson Tigers and the Atlanta Braves, and she loved singing karaoke with her husband, Tom. She was a proud supporter of youth sports and helped start the original Sebastian River Little League Organization. More than anything, she was her grandchildren’s biggest fan—never missing a game, concert, 4-H fair, or race. She showed up with love, pride, and a cheering voice at every turn.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tom Engle; her children Michael (Marie) Poole, Randy (Kim) Poole; her daughter-in-law, Kelly Poole; her granddaughters Ashley (Ben) Baker, Whitney (Justin) Bond, Michelle (Steven) Hampson, and step-granddaughter Becky Gay; her great-grandchildren Ensley, Connelly, Luke, and Taylor; and her brother Willie (Becky) Sizemore.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son Richard “Ricky” Poole; her siblings Clyde Sizemore, Mildred (Stoney) Stone, Shirley (James) Rutland; and her sister-in-law Cindy Sizemore.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Fellsmere First Baptist Church, located at 107 N. Magnolia Street, Fellsmere, FL 32948. All are welcome to join the family for a meal immediately following the service.
Joyce will be remembered for her loyalty, her love of family, and the strength she showed throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, and her spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.

Joyce and Tom invited us to sit with them at the Micco Moose Lodge one karaoke night in 2009 and we continued that tradition until Joyces passing. We enjoyed karaoke and many great conversations over the years with them. Joyce is truly missed. Our condolences to the family.
