Joyce Sobell Hajdinak passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born on October 1, 1934, in Schenectady, New York, to Aaron and Ida Sobell.
Joyce met the love of her life, Joseph Hajdinak, through mutual friends while attending college. They were married for over 60 wonderful years, building a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.
A talented and passionate artist, Joyce, entered many art shows, earning ribbons and selling several of her pieces. Later in life, she took up golf so she and Joe could share a common hobby, one they both enjoyed, even when it proved frustrating at times.
Joyce loved hosting dinner parties and took great pride in her cooking. She was known for her creativity in the kitchen and her knack for adding surprise ingredients that made every meal memorable. Born well ahead of her time, Joyce embraced life boldly. She loved wearing wild outfits, traveling, and expressing herself freely.
Above all, Joyce cherished her family. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph “Babser” Hajdinak; her beloved daughter, Diane “Di” Wisniewski; and her adored grandson, Russell Alvin “Rusty” Bevard, Jr.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sandy Bevard; her granddaughters Joey McGee (husband Beau, children Gracie and Max) and Cristi Moore (husband Doug); her grandson Jason Wisniewski (wife Carol, children Lexi and Rylie); and her granddaughter-in-law Erin Carkovic (husband Alekos, children Ace, Calix, and Matilda).
There are no services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to organizations that were near and dear to her heart: Ovarian Cancer research, Leukemia research, and VNA Hospice.
