Loretta June Hurtin “Retta”, 84, of Vero Beach, Florida peacefully passed away June 2nd, 2025 at home in Hospice Care. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 22nd, 1940 to Lorena Whitlow and William Procter. She graduated from Holy Names in Spokane, Washington.

She was a resident for many years and raised her 2 kids in Washington State at Lake Tapps with her husband John Edward Hurtin a 33 year Air Force Veteran. Loretta was a homemaker and went to Green River Community college and studied Practical Nursing. She was a second mother to many friends and family and loved by all that knew her.

Loretta is survived by daughter Jaye Lorine Hurtin; step daughter Judy Smith; grandson John Oliver Hurtin and wife Brittney; granddaughter Emily Sarah Weabel and husband Steven and great grandson Maveric; sister in law Jeri Kay Hurtin; her brother Dwight Crumpacker and wife Caren; Nieces Deanna Melhoff and husband Willie; Darcie Voyer and Dave Gresham; great niece Katie Gresham.

She was predeceased by her husband Master Sergeant John Edward Hurtin; son Washington State Trooper John Doyle Hurtin; mother Lorena Crumpacker and father Arvod Crumpacker; mother and father in law John Robert Hurtin and Isabelle Hurtin.

*Celebration of Life and Military Funeral will be schedule at a future date for both Loretta and John Hurtin. They will be laid to rest together in a military cemetery.
