With a heavy heart, I share the passing of my beloved daughter, Melissa Ackerman, who left us on January 12, 2026, at the age of 39.
Missy was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was kind, spirited, funny and determined. She brought joy into a room and had a way of making people feel loved.
She loved her family, friends, and her cat, Delilah, and she found joy in swimming, bowling, music and sneaking an occasional hit off her vape. Above all, Missy was deeply loved, and she loved deeply in return.
She is survived by her loving mother, Mary Powell; Siblings, Theresa Powell and Brandon Powell; Her loving companion, Kayla Stowell, as well as her biological father, Randy Ackerman, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and a nephew all of whom will carry her love with them always. She was preceded in death by her father, James David Powell; Sister, Kayla Powell, as well as both paternal and maternal grandparents.
Though her time with us was far too short, Missy’s impact was profound. She will be remembered for her smile, her heart, her courage and her laughter. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Arrangements are under the direction of Millennium Cremation Service.

To The Family,
Please Accept My Heartfelt Condolences. Truly the loss of a precious loved one is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise our most loving Heavenly Father Jehovah God gives us in Revelation 21:4″And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more; neither will mourning; nor outcry; nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Yes, We can look forward to a time soon to come when all suffering including death will be done away with forever.
