Patty Dimmick Finneran, 65 fought the demon cancer for several years but in the end this dreadful disease took her from us. Her body left us on November 12, 2025 but her gentle spirit will continue to fill our hearts, minds and souls with love forever.
Patty spent her childhood and early adulthood in Carmel, NY surrounded by loving parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, and cousins…many of whom continued to bless her life. She is predeceased by her husband Tommy Finneran (d. 2013); her parents, Elaine and James Dimmick; grandparents; cousins John, Mary and Karen; and several aunts and uncles – all of whom were incredibly important in Patty’s life.
She is loved and will be remembered by so many including sister, Barbara Demetriow (Kimmy & Chris); brother and sister (in-law) Jimmy & Robin Dimmick (Brittany, Cassie, Jenna: great-nieces/nephew Riley, Rowan, Remy, Bode), sister Deb Dimmick (Curran & Lily), Pam Russell, Jodie Shapiro, sister Ginger Dimmick (Kristen), and last, but certainly not least her sister and absolute best friend Terry Dimmick.
After leaving Carmel in 1984 Patty moved and settled in Vero Beach, Florida. She lived with her cousin Laura for a couple of years and having remained friends for life, Laura was an ever-present figure until Patty’s passing.
Patty met Tommy Finneran, they married and spent 22 years together making a lovely home where after Tommy’s death Patty continued to enjoy life…spending much time with her Bestie, Terry and their beloved dogs Bentley and Lucy. She cherished time in her Florida “certified” yard with its beautiful plants and gardens, creating artwork from nature’s gifts, visiting with friends and family, and up until cancer…working in the hospitality business.
Patty will be remembered as being strong-minded, fiercely independent, committed to family, hard working, thoughtful, kind and funny (to those who were fortunate enough to understand her sense of humor).
Her physical presence will be missed, but her lively spirit will forever be present.
The family will gather in the spring for a graveside memorial.
