Rosalind M. Abele

December 06, 1924 ~ August 04, 2025

Rosalind M. Abele of Port Saint Lucie, Florida died peacefully on Monday, August 4th, 2025, at the impressive age of 100. Roz, as she was affectionately known, had just celebrated her 100th birthday in December, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born in West New York, New Jersey and lived on many Army bases with her family and veteran husband, Richard P. Abele before settling in Red Bank, New Jersey, where they owned and operated a Dry-Cleaning business. She spent her summers at the Jersey shore in a town called Lavallette and often enjoyed traveling with her family. After relocating to Port Saint Lucie in 1998, Roz and Dick became active members of Saint Bernadette’s Catholic Church. In her retirement she enjoyed sewing and knitting and was an avid reader up until her death.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard (2010) and her two brothers, Anthony and Orest Craig.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy H. Bocchino; and son, Richard L. Abele of Port Saint Lucie. Roz is also survived by her three grandchildren, Craig and Robb Bocchino and Kirstin Schultz; and seven great-grandchildren, Eric and Michael Bocchino, Tanner, Brooke and Piper Bocchino, and Hannah and Reese Schultz.

She was truly an incredible woman full of spirit and fierce love for her family, who will forever cherish the laughter, love and memories she leaves behind.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
