William “Bill” Francis Bolt, Jr

June 27, 1938 ~ July 17, 2025

William “Bill” Francis Bolt, Jr of Sebastian passed away July 17, 2025.

He was born June 27, 1938, in New Haven, Connecticut to William Francis Bolt, Sr and Marion Fox Bolt. Bill’s early years were spent in Connecticut and after graduating from West Haven High School, Bill enlisted in the US Air Force. After receiving training in communications, he was assigned to the Air & Airways Communications Squadron (AACS) and was stationed overseas, spending time in Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines. While still in the service, Bill met Clare Stanley at a dance, and a year later the two were married. In 1968, after years of Connecticut winters, Bill, Clare, and their two small sons made the move to South Florida, where they settled down, eventually adding two more sons to complete their family. Bill’s training in the service afforded him the ability to transition into a communications career in the civilian workforce. After a 32-year career with Bell South he retired as a Communications Facility Supervisor.

Bill had many interests and hobbies throughout his life. He was an avid family camper for well over 40 years – starting with his first small travel trailer in the early 70’s. Retirement afforded Bill the chance to explore the country with Clare and their cat, RV. The three went cross country in their large Class A motor coach, visiting places like the Yukon, Alaska, Colorado, and Utah. An automotive enthusiast, Bill’s mechanical abilities and attention to detail came in handy when he restored a 1953 MG-TF. He also enjoyed going to local car shows and events, including attending the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400. Whether he was playing a round of golf with friends or watching his beloved Miami Dolphins play on a Sunday afternoon, Bill always enjoyed a good sporting game. After moving to Sebastian in 2005, Bill took pride in being a part of the neighborhood he lived in by volunteering for various social activity committees.

Bill is survived by his wife, Clare, their four boys; Donald (Joy), Geoffrey (Allison), Matthew (Wendy) and Jason (Jennifer), grandchildren; Steven, Zachery, Justin, Zoey, Kevin, and Ryan as well as his sister, Janice Scotti. Bill is also survived by his and Clare’s rescue cat, Charlie. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you support your local animal shelter or rescue association. A graveside service is planned for fall.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
