William “Bill” L. Carr, Sr.

William L Carr, Sr. born October 18, 1944, in Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida. Bill was born to the late John and Doris Carr and was the oldest of six children. Bill was loved by all who met him.
He was a hard-working man who spent his entire adulthood working with horses. He was a horse trainer in the harness racing field and worked for many different racing stables. He loved caring for and training standard-bred horses. After leaving the harness racing industry he began working with horses at Walt Disney World – Magic Kingdom. He worked on the Disney Ranch; drove the horse-drawn trolley down Main Street and occasionally drove Cinderella’s Coach with horses for weddings at the Magic Kingdom. He retired from Magic Kingdom after 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sibling, Barbara, and one granddaughter, Talynne. He leaves behind his wife of more than 50 years, Mona; his children, Michele (Shane) Duffey; Buddy (Traci) Carr and Philip Carr. In addition, he leaves behind 8 grandchildren whom he adored, Mason, Blaise, Tosh, Gunner, Colton, Seamus, Audrey and Raven. Also surviving are four siblings, Shirley Maddox, Martha Buehner, Debbie Snyder and David Carr and a host of nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn his passing are his lifelong friends Joe and Janet Essig.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held in the future in Ohio.
