Carol Litts

February 04, 1942 ~ June 04, 2026

Carol Ann Hartman Harden Litts, age 84, passed away on June 4, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Micco.  A devoted mother, mema, and friend, Carol was known for her boundless love of gardening. Her yard was always filled with vibrant colors with many flowers, plants and trees.  48 years, her knowledge and passion and several green thumbs took an empty yard and made it the oasis it is, Plants, trees, flowers, she loved watching them thru the seasons die back then come back the next season. Her garden was her “therapeutic sanctuary”, her words.  It was not only a sanctuary for her but also for many birds that found refuge there. Carol loved soft jazz and a glass of wine or a cup of coffee.  She loved sculpting, painting, and planting seeds to watch them grow, this was a special thrill for her.

Carol is survived by her children, Troy (Nancy) Harden, Laura (Dan) Kell, Bonny Shirley, Dean Harden, step children, Teri (Bob) Earl and Erine (Carrie) Litts; a sister Donna Pettit; grandchildren Melinda Harden, Rebecca Watters, Daniel Kell, Carol Warren, James Kell, Cody Harden, Brianna Harden, Madison Linder, Alex Brown; 12 great / great great grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren.

She had two great loves.  She was predeceased by her husband Fred Avery Litts and Dave Hagen; with Fred she had their great love of nature, the ocean, and diving.  With Dave, she also continued her love of nature, books, and butterflies.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered support and condolences during this time.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
