Don Lee Drewel, Jr.

June 03, 1966 ~ June 12, 2023

We are sad to announce the passing of Don Lee Drewel, Jr., of Vero Beach, Florida. He died at the young age of 57 on June 12, 2023. Don was surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with cancer.

Don came into this world on June 3, 1966, born to Don and Joan (Grammy) Drewel in Memphis, Tennessee. As a young man, the family moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia, where he joined Edwards Baking Company to pursue his career in manufacturing management and design.

Don was never intimidated to take on new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was liked by everyone. For the past 18 years, Don was with B&W Quality Growers in Fellsmere, holding the position of VIce President of Operations. He was devoted to his company, unselfishly working many long hours to ensure continued growth and a thriving culture. The undenying proof lies within his colleagues, as love, admiration and respect were the foundations of his leadership style.

Don was an unbelievable cook and one of his greatest passions in life was gathering with friends and family and making sure they were well fed. (Pretty sure he’s up in heaven with Grammy cooking for Jesus right now!) Don loved to rent the race track for the day and set new track records. He loved cars, sports (especially soccer, GO Manchester United!) and he enjoyed fishing…anywhere. Of late, his favorite place to vacation was the Florida Keys. Most of all, he cherished his family. Josie says he spoiled them every single day and that his love for them was undeniable.

Don is survived by his wife Josie, and his nine children, Zachary Drewel and his children, Savannah, Riley, and Grace; Zeke Drewel; Zeb and (Xochitl) Drewel and their children Jace and baby boy on the way; Zandee Drewel; Zeth Drewel; Zane Drewel; Zaylee Drewel; Don Lee Drewel, III; and Deja Drewel. He is also survived by his father, Don Lee Drewel; and sister Beverly (Scott) McVean and their seven children, Dawn; Bree; Chase; Andie; Dillon; Dakota; and Dalton; father-in-law Ron Garner; brother-in-law Joseph Garner; and cousin and friend Sher (Chuck) Doud. Don was predeceased by his mother Joan Drewel.

We miss you already, Don. We’ll love you forever!

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
