Alfred “Althea” Leon Irving

August 19, 1950 ~ April 21, 2026

Alfred “Althea” Leon Irving passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 19, 1950, to his devoted parents, Althea and Laura B. Irving. Alfred was a cherished son, brother, and friend, known for his honesty, warm personality, generous spirit, strong work ethic, and unwavering loyalty. Affectionately known as “Al” by all who knew him, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and integrity.

Alfred lived in both Indian River and Okeechobee Counties, where he built lasting relationships and touched many lives. He attended schools in both counties and, after returning to Indian River County to be closer to family, he remained active in his faith by attending several local churches. His Christian values were reflected in the way he lived and served others.
Over the course of more than fifty years, Alfred worked in a variety of roles and earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Due to health challenges, he retired early. Despite being wheelchair-bound, he continued to spend much of his time visiting friends and helping others in any way he could, demonstrating resilience and compassion.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Lawrence Irving; his sisters, Daisy Irving, Bessie Weaver, Estella Irving, and Loretta Irving; an adopted daughter McKayla Marie Noble Fort Pierce, a special friend Summer Young and Ivory Isabell, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Althea wasn’t just family; being his caregiver was one of the greatest honors of my life. Having been by his side through it all, my heart is incredibly heavy. I’ll always cherish the quiet moments and the bond we shared.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
