Ann M. Chmiel, 87, of Barefoot Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, with her children by her side.
She was born November 25, 1936, in New Kensington, PA and was the daughter of the late Smith and Ida McKee. She graduated from New Kensington High School and attended Grove City College. She was an administrative assistant at Mellon Bank in Parnassus before moving to Florida with her husband, Edward Chmiel, in 1986.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, and brother, Kenneth McKee. She is survived by her brother, Smith (Miriam) McKee; children, Susan (William) McGregor, Robert (Cynthia) Beer, and Deborah (Jeff) Settle; her grandchildren, Katie, Ryan, Joshua, Morgan, Christian, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Manny, Maya, Eliana, Genevieve, Kai and Eleanor, and sister-in-law, Janet McKee.
Ann’s children and grandchildren were frequent visitors to Florida, and she made annual trips back to Pennsylvania for graduations, weddings, and other family events. She loved living in “the Bay” and made good friends with her neighbors who were like a second family to her.
Private arrangements have been made with Millennium Cremation Service. A celebration of life with family will be planned in the near future. Dear Susie, Bobby and Debbie,
Your mom holds a very special place in my heart and I am so sorry for your loss. She (Mim, to me) treated me as another daughter and always kept in touch with me over the years no matter where the Army sent my family. She was a wonderful mom and woman and will be sorely missed. I pray that your memories provide you comfort in the time ahead.
Love,
Barb
