Belkys Josefina Atencio Atencio, 72, of Sebastian, passed away on September 10, 2022.
She was born on June 1st of 1950 in Maracaibo, Venezuela; daughter of Heberto and Josefa (Atencio) Atencio.
A wonderful mother, mother-in-law, daughter, sister, niece, and always patient and loving grandmother.
Belkys attended the University of Zulia where she received her Medical Degree. Then, she completed her Psychiatry Residency at the Psychiatrist Hospital of Maracaibo. She worked at University of Zulia as a professor in Psychology and then Ethics for 27 years, making a big impact in al the medical students of her hometown, teaching them how to always do the good for the ones in need of care.
She was preceded in death by her husband Professor Felix Gomez M.D., grandson Dilmo Ali, Father Heberto Atencio, and sister Maria Atencio, MD.
Belkys is survived by her mother Josefa, daughters Fanny Gomez Atencio and Leonardo Hernandez, Fabiola Gomez Atencio and Roger Hazim, Flor and Marc Lambert; grandchildren Dalia, Dana, Leonardo, Daliana, Rebeca, and Guillermo; siblings Heberto Luis, Maria Milagros, Josefa Maria, Jesus Miguel, and Juan Carlos; siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and closest friends.
