Bill Hopler

William Hopler (Bill), 76, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Short Hills, NJ, passed away on November 16, 2023.

 

After graduating from Essex Catholic High School, he served in the U.S. Army (1966-68) and upon returning attended Montclair State University. He was later employed by the U.S.P.S. for 28 years. He was a member/owner of the Standard Bred Racing Association of New Jersey. 

 

Bill and Kathy moved to the Beachwalk Community of Vero Beach seven years ago. He loved the warmth of Florida and being near the ocean. With his magnetic personality, he made friends and left smiles wherever he went.

 

Bill leaves behind his loving wife Kathryn (Kathy) Byrnes, brothers Jack (Camille), Tommy (Linda), Joe (Joann), sister-in-law Rosemary, and brothers-in-law Michael Byrnes (Lorraine) and Gregory Byrnes as well as many nieces, nephews, and long time friends. 

 

He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Mary, and his brothers Bobby and Frank.

 

Interment will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery near Mims, FL. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School (https://www.stjo.org/) or a charity of your choice.
