Our family member, Brad William Ford, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024.
Brad was a resident of Lake Park at Sunrise Lake Drive for three years and was very beloved throughout our community. Many of you will remember him for his great smile and friendly greetings to neighbors, dogs, and other community members who walked down our street.
Originally from the Downriver Area of Michigan, he lived in Michigan most of his life. He and his wife, Michele, relocated to Port St. Lucie to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Brad was a retired high school science teacher and golf coach for both the boys’ and girls’ teams at Woodhaven (MI) High School. His great love of golf was a passion throughout his life; he played in the Riverview Highlands Tuesday Night Men’s League for over 20 years, acquiring many great friendships and wonderful memories there. He also participated in Michigan Pub Links and numerous tournaments throughout Michigan, and he was a member of the Ann Arbor Country Club for many years.
Brad loved family get-togethers, golf, fishing, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, and playing piano and acoustic guitar. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Michele; his children, Nicholas (Jayme) Stratman and Lauren (Matthew) Thiessen; his sister, Michele Ford; his brothers, Scott (Teri) Ford and Robert (Linda Rogers) Ford; his sister-in-law, Renee Lafayette; and his nieces, Lairen (Nathan Moseley) and Katie Ford. Being a grandfather (Pipi) was a wonderful joy for Brad, and he will be greatly missed by his grandsons, Kevin, Austin, Mason (his little buddy), and our newest addition to the family, Wesley.
He is also mourned by many friends who will fondly remember him, most notably his brother-from-an-another-mother, John Mitroka (Kelly). Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Ford.
A private family burial will be held at South Florida National Cemetery in Wellington, FL.

Hello, this is Ian Orr, I went to school with Brad and Scott, played hockey with them for Beech Electric in a Michigan Amateur Hockey Association League, golfed with them, yet never knew Brad was a musician also, what the hell happened to you Scott. Brad was always kind and smiling because he always beat Scott in golf, sorry Scott. Rest in peace Brad, God Bless you Sched. Mean

Michele and family. I am so saddened to learn of Brad’s passing. Brad and I were friends from high school and kept in touch even while he lived in Spokane. The world lost a fun piano playing man, you and your children lost your rock. Sincerest sympathies.

I met Brad playing golf at Riverview Highlands through his Brother Scott. My daughter met Brad through Lauren, his stepdaughter. For a few years, we never knew that our family and Brad had connections beyond our interest in golf. Both my daughter and Brad were stunned when the connection was revealed. Brad had a great smile and was always fun to be around. Our family and Brad’s had great memories of time spent together on and off the golf course. Our condolences to Michele Lauren and Nick during this time of loss.
