Carol McCarthy, 78, of Vero Beach, FL (formerly of Taborton, NY), passed away in her home on Thursday, March 16, 2023. She was a loving wife, mother of 2, grandmother of four and a caring friend to many.
Carol was born on June 7, 1944 in Yonkers, NY to Frank and Josephine (Kobus) Piekarski. Carol spent some time working at Montgomery Ward, where she wound up meeting her future husband Bernard. On May 1st, 1965, she married the love of her life Bernard McCarthy. They raised two daughters, Suzanne and Debra.
Carol had a passion for reading, her home was often filled to the brim with books. In her free time she could often be found crocheting, shopping, or spending time with her family. She was an enthusiastic lover of fashion to the point where she had an arrival and departure outfit on her wedding day. Carol enjoyed spending her mornings with her late husband watching and feeding the nearby birds. She was known for her sense of humor, her sass, and her selfless ability to always put others first.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, her father, Frank, her mother, Josephine, her infant daughter Theresa, and infant granddaughter Rachal. She is survived by her two children, Suzanne (Leonard) Collins and Debra (Thomas) Jones, and her beloved grandchildren, Britni, Alex, Miranda, and Hailey. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park. A memorial
Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s
Church of Crescent, 86 Church Hill Rd., with inurnment to follow at the
Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
