Catherine M. “Katie” Stadtmueller

July 07, 1933 ~ January 07, 2022

Catherine M. “Katie” Stadtmueller (Nee Lewandowski)

Born to Eternal Life January 7, 2022 at the age of 88.  Katie was born July 7,1933, grew up in Menasha, WI, and attended Menasha High School.  She met Paul Stadtmueller, and they were married in June of 1954. They lovingly raised a family of four children in Oshkosh, WI and shared an enduring love of 67 years. Katie’s Catholic faith was strong, whether at St. Vincent Church of Oshkosh WI, St. Mary’s in Winneconne WI, or St. Helen Parish in Vero Beach, FL. She enjoyed being a lector and was involved in Christian Mothers and Altrusa. After working at the courthouse in Oshkosh, Katie chose to run for public office and was elected Winnebago County Clerk of Courts for four terms from 1980-1988. It was a family affair getting her elected, and listeners of WOSH radio may recall Katie’s children singing the “K-k-Katie” jingle written specifically for the campaigns.  Continuing their love of sailing, Katie & Paul later retired to Winneconne.   After being snowbirds for many years, they eventually moved to Vero Beach, FL where they’ve enjoyed being a part of the wonderful community at Vista Plantation.

Cherished wife of Paul Stadtmueller, loving mother of Michael Stadtmueller, Linda (Michael) Art, Patricia Gilgaren and Jeffrey (Paula) Stadtmueller, dear grandmother of Kristyn Art, Elizabeth Stadtmueller and Eric Stadtmueller, great grandmother of Finnley Nolan, sister of James (Christine)Lewandowski, sister-in-law of Albert Stadtmueller and Fr. Roman Stadtmueller and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Katie was preceded in death by her granddaughter Renee Art, her parents Gertrude and Daniel Lewandowski, Paul’s parents, Elizabeth and Theodore Stadtmueller, sisters in-law Lois Stadtmueller and Dolores Kallas, brother in-law Harry Kallas and nephews Charles Stadtmueller, Gregory Stoddard and Lawrence Stoddard.

A funeral and burial service will take place in Winneconne, WI at a later date. In lieu of flowers we invite you to donate to the charity of your choice in Katie’s name.

I didn’t know ether of you well, but Patti is someone I’ll always remember for her generous heart and her

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
