Charity Hyman Spaulding, affectionately known to everyone as “Boo,” passed away on October 10, 2026, just days before her 79th birthday.
Born in the Philippines on October 23, 1947, Boo came to the United States in 1966 at the age of 18. She began a new life in South Florida, where she met her future husband, John Spaulding, while they were both working at RCA in Palm Beach Gardens. They were married on August 23, 1969, beginning a wonderful journey together that would last more than 57 years.
Boo was a remarkable woman who embraced life with enthusiasm, determination, generosity, and love. She enjoyed traveling the world with John, boating, decorating their homes, and entertaining family and friends. Christmas Eve and Easter gatherings were especially dear to her heart. She had a wonderful sense of style, a gift for making a house feel like a home, and a genuine pleasure in bringing people together.
For nearly 50 years, Boo was a dedicated and valued member of Keyes Coverage, where she developed lasting friendships and took great pride in her work. Her loyalty, energy, and commitment were evident in everything she undertook.
Above all, Boo was a loving and devoted wife, a cherished friend, and a woman of strong Christian faith. She faced life’s challenges with courage and determination, always looking forward to the next adventure, the next gathering, or simply another opportunity to enjoy life with those she loved. Her kindness and thoughtfulness touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Boo is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John Spaulding; her half-sister, Helen Hong of Vancouver, Canada; her half-brother, Horacio Cruz of Edmonton, Canada; her sister-in-law, Jean Penkava; her brother-in-law, Bill Penkava; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
While her passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the lives of those who loved her, her family takes comfort in her deep Christian faith and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Boo loved life, and she would want to be remembered not only with tears, but also with smiles and fond memories of the wonderful times shared together.
She will forever be loved, remembered, and missed.
