Charles Diaz, 74, of Vero Beach Florida lost his battle with cancer on April 13, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife Lamool and family by his side.

Charles was born on August 10, 1946 in Manhattan, NY to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Margarita Diaz. After graduating Aviation High School in Long Island City, New York he served in the United States Air Force with much time served in the Vietnam War. In acknowledgement of his service he was awarded numerous honorable recognitions and awards. Charles was a brave and loyal aviator who loved his country, as well as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Charles was a professional business leader fulfilling 33 years at XEROX working in various capacities: Technology Specialist, Senior Engineer, Quality Consultant, and Organizational Effectiveness Specialist. While working at XEROX he taught business courses at Indian River Community College.

He enjoyed everything related to electronics, information technology, aviation and aerospace. His hobbies included building televisions and computers, serving on a volunteer panel for testing new Microsoft operating systems, amateur radio communications, ROTC volunteering and leading the Civil Air Patrol unit in Indian River County.

He leaves memories to be cherished by his wife of 53 years, Lamool Diaz; daughter Maria Jenkins and her husband Dallis Jenkins and their children Rachel and Taylor; son Charles Diaz Jr. and his wife Amy Diaz and their children Matthew, Joseph, Peyton, Preston and Emma; daughter, Rosalind Schroeder and her husband Todd Schroeder and their children Elena and Carson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. 1235 S. Clark Street Ste. 910 Arlington, Va. 22202

With a smile on his face and an eye to the sky, Charles flew into the arms of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Charles left this earth with his heart and faith fulfilling his family and friends with love, support, humor, shared time in many family gatherings and fun memories. He will live in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

My father was an inspiration in my life. He role modeled leadership, discipline and empathy as a great father.
He taught me how to be a man, a father, and a true professional through his everyday interaction with friends, family members and colleagues.
Most importantly my father loved God and his country.
I will miss him greatly but rejoice in the day that I see him again.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone,
a part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

The Lord be with you and may you
rest in peace.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
