Charles Herbert Vesty

February 21, 1932 ~ January 31, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles “Charlie” Vesty, beloved husband, father and grandfather, on January 31, 2025, at the age of 92. His was a life well lived, full of love, travel and adventure.

A kind and selfless soul, Charlie brought joy to everyone with his warm personality, friendliness, and sense of humor. His enthusiastic curiosity about the world inspired a lifetime of global exploration. He cherished skiing, sailing, clamming, savoring fine cuisine, and delving into history. Despite his numerous achievements, Charlie remained humble and was a model citizen. Above all, he was a devoted and affectionate husband, as well as a supportive father and playful grandfather.

He was born in Alexandria Bay, New York during the Great Depression in 1932 to a working-class family as the youngest of three boys. In high school, he played football and baseball. He joined the Air Force ROTC while the Korean War was ongoing and attained a degree in economics from Union College. His service in the Air Force, where he flew the B-25 Mitchell, ignited his passion for aviation and led to a distinguished 34-year career with Eastern Airlines, where he rose to the rank of check captain.

Charlie leaves behind his cherished wife of 64 years, Renee Vesty; his loving children Jill and Todd Vesty; son-in-law Mark Neagle; daughter-in-law Michelle Vesty; and adored grandchildren Flint Neagle and McKenna Vesty.

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
