Christopher S. Russell

April 14, 1965 ~ March 31, 2024

Christopher S. Russell, age 58, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 31, 2024.

He was born April 14, 1965, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the son of the late William E. Russell, Jr. and Peggy (Smith) Russell.

Chris was a graduate of Vero Beach High School. He proudly served the City of Vero Beach as a groundskeeper for 35 years. He enjoyed a simple life that consisted of fishing, hunting, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Miami Dolphins. He could often be found at the shooting range or relaxing on his front porch with his dog Poppi.

He was a proud father of his daughter Heather (Chase) Shultz of New York and doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Skyleigh, Peter Christopher, and Haeli. He is also survived by his siblings, Karen Russell of Florida, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Riggins of Florida, Carol (Melvin) Nobles Bauman of South Carolina, Ronald Nobles of New York, Prudence (David) Fraze of Arkansas, Eric Noble of Ohio, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his loving parents, he is predeceased by his biological father Edward Nobles of Botswana, Africa and biological mother Linda Wilford of California. He is also predeceased by his brother, Paul Russell of Wisconsin.

Chris was a very private person so no funeral or memorial service will be held.

Sincere condolences to Karen, Kim, and family of Chris from the Hamilton family. He was our childhood neighbor and friends with our brother Ed who passed away in 2022. Always enjoyed talking with Chris when we would see each other at Publix. Thank you for your service to the City of Vero Beach Chris. Love and support to the family

  • The service from Millennium was outstanding. Rachel was sweet, personable and very comforting. It was important to me that my dad was kept locally where I knew where he would be. Very nice facility, state of the art and quality of my fathers remains were so refined compared to my mothers years ago. I highly recommend this place for an affordable choice for your loved one. Thank you for making an already stressful event easy. With high regards, the Esposito and Keith Family.

  • Millennium Cremation provided a fantastic service to our family at a difficult time. Our beloved mother passed away in Vero Beach and the rest of the family was in other parts of the country. Due to the Covid health crisis, none of us could get to Vero Beach in person. That's where Millennium took over. They helped us manage everything, coordinated with a cemetery in Maine, managed the obituaries, expedited all the paperwork, and even delivered an important document locally that saved us days. Funeral director Rachel was a godsend, and she made it clear what she was going to do, and what we needed to do. If you know what you want, Millennium is highly recommended, and the savings versus the full service mortuaries is significant.
