Dallas Jackson Jones Jr.

Dallas Jackson Jones, Jr., 75, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away November 10, 2021 at VNA Hospice House. He was born May 15, 1946 in Nashville, TN to the late Dallas J. and Virginia Lee Jones and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 2015.
Dallas served in the United States Air Force from February 1969 to March 1973 and rose to the rank of Captain. He served as a forward air controller during the Vietnam war and was awarded two (2) Distinguished Flying Crosses and seven (7) Air Medals. He also received personal commendations for various missions from: Lon Nol – Premier of Cambodia, the USAF Chief of Staff, Navy Unit Commander and Army Task Force Commander. Dallas had top secret clearance and was honorably discharged in 1973.
Dallas received his master’s degree in Quantitative Analysis from NYU in 1977 and was working towards his PHD in Finance at NYU. Dallas worked on Wall Street from 1974 to 1979. He moved to Chicago in 1979 to trade financial instruments on the Chicago Board of Trade and semi-retired in 1988. He had a gifted mind and enjoyed researching material on interest rate approximations in the old academic literature.
He is survived by his brothers, Dr. Charles (Missy) Jones of Mobile, AL and David Jones of Nashville, TN; and also his nieces, Virginia and Caroline and nephews, Charles Jr., and Dallas Hamilton Jones. He also leaves his memories to be cherished by his former wife, dear friend and long-time caregiver, Roberta DeLisle of Vero Beach.
His cremated remains will be placed at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery where he will receive military honors.
