David E Atkins Jr

June 24, 1940 ~ January 10, 2024

David, 83, of Boston,Massachusetts, passed away on
Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in Palm Bay, FL. He was the son of
David Edward Atkins, Sr. and Helen Leona Parsons-Atkins.
He is survived by his wife, Norene Atkins, one son, David Edward
Atkins III of Palm Bay, FL; Four daughters, Mary Hegedus of FT
Lauderdale, FL, Becky LaPointe of Savannah, TN, Brenda Moody of
Lawrenceburg, TN, Crystina Atkins of Palm Bay, FL; 8
grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two nieces Debbie and
Alivia.

David served his country with honor and nobility in the U.S. Navy during
the Vietnam War. After honorable discharge from the United States
Naval Amphibious Base of Coronado, California, he worked as a baker at
the Stop N’ Shop Bakery for a time, then as a supervisor of the tolls with
the department of transportation before retiring to spend time with
family.
He loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grand
children and great-grandchildren. He loved animals and enjoyed card
games, staying current with the news, joking and laughing with others,
providing for the ones he loved, building things and working with his
hands. He was also a proud foster parent.
The family would like to thank the staff members at “William Childs
Hospice House-Health First” for their loving care and support.
