Derril Dehne, 95, of Vero Beach, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2024.
He was born in Robinson North Dakota on November 2nd, 1928 to Emil Carl Dehne and Jennie
Inga Dehne.
Derril grew up on a farm in North Dakota until his enlistment in the Army. After he left the Army,
he remained in New York for several years while working as a mechanic. It was there, while
working at a service station, that he met the love of his life Anne Laurino. They were married in
1956 and then moved to Florida where they remained during their 67 years of loving marriage.
Throughout their marriage they lived in Miami, Tamerac, Wellington, and Jacksonville, before
moving to Vero Beach 4 years ago.
After moving to Florida, Derril got a job as a laborer with the City of Miami Beach. He retired 25
years later as the Department Head of the Building Maintenance Division where he was
responsible for the operation and maintenance of all government buildings in the City. After
retirement from the City, he went back to work as the Maintenance Supervisor for a large
Condo Complex in Broward County. He remained there for another 20 years.
Derril was an amazing Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was known for his ability
to build or repair just about anything, as well as for his willingness to help anyone with any
project or repair. He especially loved working alongside his children and grandchildren, helping
them with any projects they might have and passing along his knowledge and abilities.
He is survived by his loving wife Anne; his daughter Denise Crawford (Frank); his son Derril
Dehne Jr. (Christine); grandsons, Kenneth (Angela); Kevin (Andrea), great grandchildren, Aidan;
Ella; and Rylan; and his brother, Marvin Dehne.
