Douglas S. Wright

August 31, 1959 ~ March 16, 2024

Douglas “Doug” Stuart Wright passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on March 16, 2024, at the age of 64. He was born and lived a full life in Vero Beach, Florida. His battle with Corticobasal Atypical Parkinson’s in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Doug came out as a hero and stayed strong until the end. He was highly successful in management and quite talented in carpentry and repairs. There was never a task or job he could not accomplish. He was born August 31, 1959, and a Vero Beach Senior High Class graduate of 1977. Doug spent 50 years with the love of his life, Vickie. Together they had 2 children.
He is survived by his loving wife – Vickie Wright of Vero Beach FL, daughter – Margaret McCardle (Shawn) of Marianna FL, son – Stuart Wright (Tori) of Vero Beach FL, grandson – Brandon McCardle, granddaughters – Jessica McCardle (James) and Shauna McCardle, great granddaughters – Madison McCardle and Phoebe Foster.
He is also survived by siblings – Ann Haight (Bruce), Kenneth “Ted” Wright, Tom Wright (Lisa). His in-laws Sandy Centrone, Tina Jones (Tony), Tony Guy (Marty), Lynn Odom (Jim), Mike Daigle and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Kenneth and Yvonne Wright, sister’s in-law Jackie Wright, Debby Daigle, and brother in-law Tom Guy.
He will be honored in a beach-side celebration of life on May 12, 2024, at Bethel Creek House – 4405 A1A Vero Beach, FL 32963. Visiting hours are from 5-8pm EST. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Doug Wright’s memory to the UF Foundation, PO Box 100243, Gainesville, FL 32610. Donations will be used for research and programs in Atypical Parkinson’s and related diseases.
