Elliott G. Brown, of Vero Beach, Florida, and Elk Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, he graduated from Cooley High School. Following high school, he completed a two-year Army tour of duty which took him to Germany and France. Upon returning to the States, he was transferred by his company to work in Marquette, Michigan. It was in Marquette where he met his wife, Saundra (nee Eveland). They were married in 1960 and embarked on their 61-year journey of building a family and life together.
With Saundra’s encouragement, Elliott earned his BS in Finance at the University of Detroit while working full-time and raising their family of four children.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Elliott, with his brothers Bud and Walter, were proprietors of a family resort on the west shore of Torch Lake (Grand Traverse area) which they called Clear View Villas. This began his love of the lake life.
In retirement, Elliott & Saundra spent the summer and fall on either Torch Lake or Birch Lake in northern Michigan, and winters in Florida, first in New Port Richey, and later in Vero Beach. He was a life-long fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions and the Michigan Wolverines.
Elliott leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Saundra. He also leaves his children, Kevin Brown (Heather), Todd Brown (Brooke), Darcey Copenhaver (Mike), and Holly Haugan (Dale) as well as his grandchildren Camille Brown, and Joshua, Patrick, and Addison Haugan.
Services will be held privately at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 (www.vnatc.com) or Alzheimer and Parkinson Association, 2300 5th Avenue, Suite 150, Vero Beach, FL 32960 (www.alzpark.org).

Im sorry for your loss but happy your Dad and husband got to go to Heaven. He is way better off. I hope your Mom can begin to heal now. It has about destroyed my mind about taking care of my husband and never getting any sleep.

We are just so sad to read this today. We had no idea. We both loved Elliot and working with him was a pleasure at the Phone Company. Saundra, you were our favorite Realtor finding us our very first home after we got married. Would love to hear from you as we are now in Clemmons NC. Please know you are all thought of with Love.
